Hi Everyone... I need some suggestions as far as what hair color would look good. My Girlfriend is away for a few more weeks and I want to surprise her when she comes back. Currently my hair is colored Clairol Nice and Easy # 118.
http://www.clairol.com/brand/niceneasy/print.jsp?shadenum=118&oldbox=118 - http://www.clairol.com/brand/niceneasy/print.jsp?shadenum=118&oldbox=118

I'm looking to get it cut here soon also, and I like it very short (# (1) 1/2 guard on the sides and back and a little longer on top but not much, just enough to run gel through for that messed up spiky piecy look (think Brad Pitt a few years back) and my question is what color should I do the highlights on the top front front part of my hair? I'm thinking of telling the stylist that I want 2 different colors but nothing red or orangeish. Was thinking something like a dark ash blonde and a medium brown?? I dunno.. I NEED YOUR HELP ! any suggestions / pictures (doesnt matter if they are pictures of girls if you need to recommend a color) would be much appreciated ! Possibly a different base color and light / darker highlights? Has anyone ever just told the stylist to do whatever they want ?  If you need to see any pics just let me know and I will email you

You could just go for the light ash blonde hi-lights as you r hair is already brown colour, this would make your colour stand out more, but also keeping in with the current fashion for guys hair. I like brad pits cut, but without seeing a pic of you its hard to say whether you would or would'nt suit it. Have you seen the new David Becham cut, its short at the sides and back , but longer at the top , very texturised. Im sure your girlfriend will love your new look, best of luck, karen

Hi Karen, thanks for the reply and your suggestions. I haven't seen the new David Becham pics so if you have some you could share that would be great. This is what i'm thinking about.. More of a haircut like this when I mentioned Brad Pitt http://www.pc-wallpapers.co.uk/viewer.php?cmax=2&cat=BP&id=000003 - http://www.pc-wallpapers.co.uk/viewer.php?cmax=2&cat=BP&id=000003 but not quite as long... shorter and more messed up,

Color :

The website says its a dark blonde.... I was thinking a mixture between that and some platinum blonde ( whitish ) highlights would be a good choice..

Here is a pic of David Beckham, scroll down the page , till you see him, lol.

Yes, it is an ash blonde on her hair. It is dark blonde base with hi-lightes of ash blonde.

Again without seeing a pic of you its hard to say if you would suit the colour, example lightning your hair colour can affect your skin tone, certain colours can enhance your eye colour etc.

Well, I cant really see your colour properly with your last pic, but it is a dark brown in colour. You could have bleach hi-lights, I dont think any high lift colours will lift your colour enough, without making it orangie, bleach is your best bet, as for the cut I would get the same as last pic, but just a little shorter at the top, to get a messy look, use either a wax product, or gum ( not the gum you chew on, lol) add a little of the product to dry hair and mess it up.

I hope this helps a little, I am sure your girlfriend will like the new you. Karen

P.s You did'nt say if you were going to a salon or doing it at home, If your colouring your hair at home , I would recommend, Schwarzkopf cream bleach, its good stuffSmile

I went into sally's here in the UK, yesterday to restock on the Schwarzkopf cream bleach, and they said they had discontinued it, they gave no reason why.  I loved the lift you got from it. KarenCry

Bummer.I hate when you find a product you love and they discontinue it.

I'm scared to go back to blonde,so I'm gonna be sure I know what I'm doing this time before I try it.
