i'v noticed that many sites are selling the microrings lined with  silicone...has anyone tried these? do they hold better than the microrings that are not lined?

yes they seem to hold better for many people, less slippage and the biggest advantage is they are gentler on the hair. The silicone lining provides a soft cushion and protects the hair from metal edges of the rings.

I agree with sherrie...
I recently used silicone rings/tubes for the first time...I'm now a convert
If only they came in wider diameters

I use the silicone lined rings for all my micro ring clients.  They do not damage the hair and they are less prone to slipping.  I find that the small size, the 2.5 diameter slips less than the 3mm diameter rings.

i think the microrings are bulkier in my opinion.they close wider.
i only use the silcone micro rings for my weft installs.
the other ones are flatter.

I've only tried the ones without the silicone lining, I have very thin hair and unless I clamped them up  with all the strenght in my hands they would slip out-. I haven't had much problems with breakage tho, but I've heard that some have.

I've heard, that the silicone ones are alot gentler to the hair when it comes to breakage and that they are alot less likely to slip. I'll buy a batch to try it out, as soon as I can find them for a reasonable price in Europe. ;)
Got any links? Bring em on!

Oh and I have another microring question, the kind that's got the screw markings inside, has anyone tried those?

i also saw the microrings w/the screw thread inside...wonder if they would hold better than silicone?

some people have had damage from the screw rings. I would say anyone with fine, thin, weak or brittle hair should probably avoid the screw rings.
