But I'm back lol. Alot has been happening. My hair got to about three inches past bsl with a jawlength fringe but then I had it cut by two inches with a big chunky-assed beast of a fringe that I hated. I then grew in another inch and went to a proffessional salon and had layers put in starting at jawlength and going down to an inch above bsl. I loved it! Kept growing my hair, it's now about an inch past bsl again and the layers are at mid neck. I'm using heat styling again(and a hell of alot of cones) but I don't use dye so it still looks healthy. I'm planning on growing it to just above waistlength with layers at the front starting at my collarbone and V-ing down the start at bsl at the back. Oh and I've left uni to do hairdressing! Don't hold it against me hahaTongue!

Oh I hate growing out big fringes!  Every time I cut one into my hair, I inevitably cut too much hair and wind up growing the back of it out.  Good luck with your growing and new career!

What I've learned about fringe/bangs:
Start thin - you can always add to it.
Start long - you can always trim it.

When I've decided to go for a new look in bangs, I alway start with a very thin layer and wear it that way for a little while to see if I'm going to want to keep it.  Then, if I feel it needs it, I add a little more at a time until I get the look I want.  It's such a pain growing it out!

Wow, that's a big career switch... I'm sure you'll make a great hairstylist, 'cause you're well aware of (and sensitive to) the problems so many of us have had at salons.  Would love to see a pic of your hair, sometime...

Hi again everyoneSmile!

Yeah fringes are hell! I've decided I don't want one anymore as my hair looks much better without but I've decided to keep a bit of layering at least in the last 6-8 inches of my hair to avoid the block look I had before since it's as thick. I'm keeping the length quit consistent just not until my old dye grows out and the tufts at the nape of my neck grow a bit more. The dye isn't noticeable at all but I just don't have my natural goldish highlights.

Yeah, hopefully I can convert some other stylists to be pro-long hair while I'm there! I plan to spend my time hidden in updos to avoid confrontation lol!

Dave, I'll try and get some pictures. You wouldn't believe how wavy it is since the layers were cut in(I've even got a few corkscrews)! I'll get a straight photo and a wavy one.

Hi again! I can't make up my mind lol! I've decided not to do hairdressing and to use my qualifications instead and eventually go to art school. The hair is currently natural and if it is straightened, my wash time is extended. I'm liking my natural hair again. It's very wavy with the layers! My hair is a grand total of 26 inches lol. Not much change there. I would probably be at waist length by now if I had just left it but it looks healthier now and there's less dye leftSmile.

Hiya SK! The pre-bsl length is sooo frustrating isn't it? I'm back on BSL now but it would probably be alot longer if it was left! I hate this length lol. I'm about 1cm a month now because my diet isn't great but hopefully that'll change. I might try the black Lush henna but I'm too scared just now!

Might put some pictures up soon, I've just been so busy! Nice to see you about though. Good luck with growing, I'm sure you'll get past bsl pretty soonSmile! You've got lovely hair and wave formation looks great!

By the way you describe your hair's present state, HFO, it sounds very pretty... and it sounds like you're on track to grow to your goal length! Smile
