After rave reviews on this site, I trolled down to my salon and got the Extreme Anti-Snap leave in and the Smooth Down conditioner. I've got dry/damaged/breakage-y hair which I flat iron daily. Its not that I've had bad results, its just that I got better results from my last conditioner, minus a leave in. My hair is soft, but not gorgeously soft. I apply about 2 walnut sized globs of the conditioner to my hair, and blow dry it a little to get it go sink in. Then I apply around 2 pumps of the anti-snap to my towel dried hair. Am I doing anything wrong?
The salon said if I didnt get in with the products I could bring them back and swap/refund, so what should I get?
I'm tempted by the Butter Treat & Heat Glide - Would these work? Could I use a small amount of the Butter Treat every time I washed my hair if I clarified often, or would that cause trouble?

I think you should stop straightening your hair on a daily basis. I know a lot of people claim that they "can't live" without their straightening iron, but I figure it's better to have curly/wavy hair than to have horribly damaged hair.

My hair was really bad for a while, but that's because I dyed it with permanent dyes (constantly) and only used silicone shampoos. After I stopped using those products, the damage got worse, but I got the Redken Extreme Deep Fuel Treatment, and honestly it saved my hair. Though it wasn't a miracle product, it helped so much. Now I don't see nearly as much damage and split ends.

Anyway... back to the point I was trying to make. I think you should give the product a try, like use it more than once to actually see any results. Nothing works wonders on the first try (at least that's my experience). I've also heard from "experts" on beauty products, that you should give most products at least 6 months before seeing full results.
I bet if you used the Redken Anti-Snap and the conditioner a few more times, you'd probably start to see a difference.
That's just what I've heard... I've been trying that and it seems that over time certain products do actually work better.
(Like the Deep Fuel Treatment that I'm using. I've used it 3 times so far and see a better improvement every time.)

Charl, it is terrible for your hair to flat iron every day!  You really should try to at least do it less often.
But that's really beside the point here.  There is no one product that works for everyone.  It is important to remember that different hair types respond differently to different products.  What works wonders for you, may work terrible for me.  I agree with ThisGirl to an extent - don't pass judgement after one use.  Though I don't think it really takes 6 months to see if it'll work for you or not.  (I'd say maybe use one whole bottle)  If you still think your former conditioner works better, go back to it.

Hi. I flatironed my hair every day and now I just blow it straight. It seems to work just as good but my hair seems less damaged and more shiny. I also use Suave Hemctant Shampoo and Conditioner and do a deep cond. treatment at least once a week. I found that Aussie producs are also great. I like to mix Aussie Moist Conditioner and 3 Minute mircle with VO5 Strawberry Champange, and Either Redken All Soft or Redken Smooth Down.
