Just wondering, if I install with protac my elite thermo that is on the way...how do I curl it without causing all sorts of damage to my own fine color treated hair?  I had some bulk of it and attempted to curl it with my Caruso rollers though maybe I didn't use small enough sections or something but anyway, my natural hair CURLED and the thermo did not so I then had to straighten the entire ponytail (this was an experiment and not an install) to get it to blend back.  SO if I use my ceramic curling iron (which clearly says NOT to use it on damp hair) with installed hair....does that fry my own hair in the process?  I'm not sure how this part works.  Thanks in advance for help/advice/suggestions. :)

I would use some sort of heat protector on your own hair before you use anything hot.  But the beauty of curling the thermo is once its done you're not going to be doing it everyday so its better using heat on your hair once a week instead of every day x

I have Elite Thermo in and I have both a flat iron and a curling iron that go up to 392 degrees. When I flat iron, my hair is wet, just washed and I go all the way up to the scalp with it and catch my own hair in with the extension hair. I havnt noticed any problems with my hair. If anything its better than before since the flat iron has the ceramic plates that leaves my hair and the elite thermo nice and shiny and smooth.
 
I flat iron my hair after every wash and between washes I iron it about every other day and the elite thermo is doing great so I think your going to really like it.

BTW, you have to curl elite thermo when it is very very wet. There will be some popping, sizzling and smoking but its ok, the elite thermo loves heat. I havnt read of anyone successfully curling thermo with rollers tho.

I do not recommend using a regular curling or flattening device on your real hair while wet.   If you are going to flat iron, spend the money for a great device like the solia at http://www.folica.com - www.folica.com it can be used on slightly damp hair.  I would recommend either buying devices that are ionic and termaline that you can use on slightly damp hair or I have actually dried all my hair & seperated the extensions out & only dampen & curl the extensions.  this way when you curl your own hair it is dry.
