I have four boys with a nice grade of hair. My oldest have wavy thin hair, the second has thick hais and the third has a mixture between thick and thin. The fourth is to young for this. I was told if I was to perm their hair the chemicals will either break thier hair and change the texture of their hair. Is this true? What about blow drying it , for better managing for braids? Is there a lotion or creme to put on their hair before and after I blow dry their hair?

Depends on whether or not the kid wants the perm I guess. I think the chemicals may be a little harsh for them... my poor sister had red hair and our grand mom permed it when she was 5..she looked like orphan ANNIE. If the kid really wants it then I dont really see the harm,as long as they dont have any bad reactions to the chemicals.
