I colored my best friends hair last night with the help of another stylist when I should have just went with my gut. If you know anything about Wella color on relaxed hair then you'll have a better chance at helping! Sorry it's so long but I have to give you history so you can understand what her hair has been through. Keep in mind it's relaxed....
In the summer her hair was lightened to a gold level 8 & toned with 6/75+7/43:Gentle(1.9%) with a base of 6/75+7/43:30vol, when it faded in December we decided to color it again so I toned it with 6/77:Gentle(1.9%) all over. Beautiful color! This time the placement color faded to a brassy reddish-gold & I wanted to change the whole look! I wanted the top to be a golden blonde & the base a chocolate color. Her hair is tapered in the back, long side swept bang on one side, short & over the ear on the other. I lifted first the ends & then the roots with 10/16:40vol which turned it orange so I toned it with Koleston (not the recommened Color Perfect!) 6/2+7/2=parts:gentle. It came out too dark & it looks muddy. We are going out of town Firday & I have to fix this!! There was supposed to be a high contrast between the two colors & I used 6/2+7/2= parts:20 vol for the base so I figured maybe I can just darken the base & use a lighter level toner. If anyone can relate can you please help!!
