Hmmmmmm it depends where abouts you are, there are plenty of good brands out there but, being that im from the uk, im not sure that any of them would be available in the uk. the most popular brand would be GHDs which are quite costly but most would say they're worth it. they would definately go the trick. You could always go back to the salon that did your hair and ask them which brand they used/which they would recommend. Alternatively, a LOT of teenagers use straightners these days i'm sure one of your friends will be able to tell you a good brand. Usually, the higher the price, the better the straighteners. You could always check ebay if youre on a budget. Btw that new cut looks absolutely amazing ;] -------------

:)haha, thanks a lot. I appreciate your help, do you know if theres anything i should do besides straightening? i dont regularly blowdry or add any sort of substance. Should I?

You can get some straightening gel or cream which you put in your hair while its damp and then blowdry your hair angling the dryer downwards to smooth the hair cuticles which will help. However, straightners are much more effective and cheaper long term i believe. -------------

Most people think that the result of their hair depends on the flat iron... It doesn't... If you want to know how your stylist does it, take advice from one. You need to invest in a good blowdryer and brush! To get it as straight as possible-- you need a natural boar bristle brush that will provide the most tension... Apply straightening/thermal protection cream (CHI is good) while wet (using a smoothing shampoo/conditioner helps too) You need a blowdryer that is ATLEAST 1800 Watts... Best if it is Tourmaline and Ceramic infused, because then it will provide the most ions and give you a smoother finish... Then apply a texturizing hard wax. With a little technique- and if done properly-- You shouldn't even NEED a flatiron... But since humidity is a killer in the summer, try a ceramic and tourmaline infused flatiron as well... Atleast 375 degrees.... Please make sure your products are thermal protective or you will destroy your hair... ------------- Sara |
