Hi ladies I have only tried long extensions once before with synthetic though they looked great I got less than one week out of them before I cut them short due to tangling I was plaiting the hair at night etc but they werejust tangling uncontrollably. I cannot imagine how they would last anyone a few weeks. The hair came from a sepia synthetic wig (brand new) that I cut into wefts and attached with micro links I am thinking about trying synthetic again, with wawa thermal However I wanted to get an opinion on how they last first do the thermal fibres last longer than standard synthetic kanekalon? I dont want to liquid gold these in and end up with a matted messafter one week Is there some secret I am missing as to detangling? I tried various conditioners, silicones, and fabric softener, found short synthetic lasted really well, but anything beyond my shoulders got frizzy on the ends really fast, and below my bra line tangled very easily no matter how careful i was someone tell me the thermal fibres last longer than a week???? Please note - i have nev er tried specific synthetic extension hair wefts - but i thought that stardard extensions from synthetic hair were also made of kanekalon? |

I've never tried the thermal fibers myself, but I can tell you right off the bat that you shouldn't be afraid to try the synthetics designed for extensions over your experience with Sepia's quality of Kanekelon... No offense to them, but they use one of the lowest quality fibers I've ever seen.
But even Kanekelon used in higher quality wigs are notably better quality than what West Bay Inc. uses for their wigs... I have 2 other wigs made with Kanekelon and they look beautiful after 2 months still, while the Sepia wig lasted about 2 weeks at best before it was a tangled mess. I think as long as you invest the extra $$ into a good quality brand you would find better results... although probably not as good as using human hair. |

There are different kinds of Kanekelon, different grades of quality. Kanekelon is just the brand name for what is essentially just a modacrylic fiber. But they have different formulas- and Sepia wigs are cheap for a reason.

ARG, I HATED Wawa, I have had Plastik Haar, Prostyles, Kanekalon, Wawa, and Plastik Haar's "Powerlon". I hated Wawa the most. I absolutely LOVED Prostyles hair! Whereabouts in Australia are you? I'm from Perth and live in San Francisco now, so G'day!
I don't like WAWA at all. I just bought some and didn't even install it becuase it felt so scratchy. I Love Elite Thermo - I get about 4 weeks or more out of it - and I just bought some American Dream (but haven't installed it yet - I'll keep you updated).
Yeah, Definitely stay away from the Wawa.

I think we are talking about two different things here I have not had problems with long wigs - its long extensions in non thermofibre that I dont thing last - regardless of brand.
Sleeping in something is a LOT more wear and tear than wearing a wig in the day.
