Got my order from Sara in record time - 9 days from Switzerland and that was by regular post. Yow!

I selected the "Free Catalog" and got some cool stuff.

Thought I'd try out the new Deluxe Wave. I usually get 50mm so I was a little concerned the Deluxe Wave would be like the 28mm (too tight for my liking). Man, I wish I had ordered it all in Deluxe. It is NOTHING like 28mm and is this perfect bouncy curl. Take a looksee. Deluxe Wave is on top and the 50mm is on the bottom.

Thanks, Sara!

You're welcome! Can't wait to see your latest install, Fina.

Before I ordered, Neko told me the Deluxe is about half the weight per package so plan accordingly. My package was 48grams. Just remember to section it out so there's little waste. I'll make 5 or 6 bundles out of one pack so I'm not handling the whole bulk of it at once. I learned the hard way back in '05. :/

I ordered 4 bundles so I think I'll be OK. Yeah, handling it is *very* tricky. Thanks for the reminder though.  You should see the mess I made out of my Powerlon samples (which is why I never posted pics, honestly!).  I'm having it installed at HairPolice and I know that they usually work with hair that's quite a bit shorter (the trimco which is under 30" I think). Do you know much about the Deluxe Wave? It seems like it's its own beast in the PH lineup, ya know?

Hey, Amm, how are you installing it? The plastikhair? Is it on a weft? Is there a pre tipp? If not, do you just cut the weft and glue it on? I'm just wondering b/c when I take this Euro So-Cap out I want to experiment and put synthetic hair in. Give me some info if you feel like it!! Thanks, Christina

Hey Christina... I installed with Prostick tape and it's on hand-tied wefts I made.

http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=50635%20 - Here's the link to what the wefts look like.

If you can believe it, the base material is fishing line. So, yanno, I can't cut them. Doesn't matter because I measured the widths I needed beforehand and made them to spec. I wish I could've made a demo but it seemed impossible with still shots.

Anyway, here's the install. Hard to tell but this is like no hair at all (4oz maybe?) and it's 20" length. I have my head back a little so it looks longer in the pics. Three single wefts in the back & I have a lot of hair left out on bottom so I can wear these super high ponytails. The other two wefts are temple to the back crown, one on each side.

Two weeks and I flippin love it.

Amm, would you mind posting some tips on working with loose PH?  I'm making my own wefts this weekend and would love some ideas to keep from doing what I did last time which is end up with a gianormous hairball of waste.

OOOOOHHH Amm. . .that's incredible. . .but what do you mean "this is like no hair at all"? Do you mean because it's so light?

Are you wearing the 50mm or the Deluxe Wave? It looks GREAT in the pics!

Wood eye? Wood eye?! Oh, heh... old joke.

Yeah, wth... I'd love to. Maybe some pics of the process would help, too. I've got a complete calendar dawn 'til almost dawn again for the next 14 days or so but I will do it :)

This is the 50mm. I didn't have the Deluxe until just now.

Yeah, it's light. It's like, "Do I have hair in?" It's not even moderately weighty.

And check this out, Fina...

See these curl thingamabobs? (see below) They're stick rollers that are soft and bend into place. When the PH is damp, I roll the length of them up in 'em and secure the end and then bend into place. I'll just mosey around the house all evening letting the hair dry in them or I'll blast the blowdryer at em to set the curl. The photo below I'm bodywave perming some ESG (the rollers do not absorb/get destroyed by the solution) but this is what they look like. Great rollers for long hair, they are.

OK so 1/2 the weight, I might just be slow tonight but does that mean it's the same amount of hair just lighter or less hair just need to order more.  Sorry for the stupid question.

Oh and seen the curliers before, going to have to get some but where did you get those clips?  Those are so neat!

Silly goose. 4oz is 4oz - it just feels light. I usually wear more than this so I have less weight on me head. I'm just breeeeezing about, light as a feather.

The clips are off my hot roller set. They're the bomb. They stand up to perm juice, heat, me wearing them and bouncing off the hallway wall after too much pinot grigio... that sort of thing.

got it!  Sorry insomnia makes me a bit slow at times.  I did notice, I'm making my own wefts that they are so much skinnier!  No need for the shingling.  Thanks for the tips!

Laughing, Amm... I actually know that old joke. The comeback to "wood eye, wood eye" is "hunchback, hunchback!"

Sure...just test a small section of weft first before you try your whole install stash. Try a perm that is for damaged/treated hair. If the perm kit has preconditioner, use it. After rolling it up and applying the curling lotion, do a curl check often. Throw away the neutralizer and rinse well with clear water. Condition, condition, condition. :)
