after 3 upsetting visits to the salon where the stylist cut ALOT more than I wanted, I now have my boyfriend trim my hair. He`s been doing it for about 5 years now and I trust him completely, he does a great job. I have straight, mid back, all one length hair with bangs. I would love to put some layers in it but will not go back to a salon. Do you think I could trust him to do it? Is it that hard to do? Is there anyone in Central New York that could teach him to do it. I`d be willing to pay for him to learn how to do it. Please help, I dont want to go to a salon.

hi shelby,
i can`t help u with someone in NY to teach cutting layers, but i just had my bf(his sis is a stylist) cut my long hair. while i was only wanting a bob just above the shoulders, i ended up with a slightly inverted bob with a buzzed nape. it was soooooo cool watching him cut it...and the way the clippers felt on my neck....WOW!!!! hope u experience the same excitement i did!!!
