There was a story in my local news today (Hamilton) about a hair disaster. Some little girl, 5 years, old, had beautiful long brunette curly hair and she went to take a bath. Well her mother went to shampoo her and suddenly her hair started falling out. In huge clumps. Her mom OBVIOUSLY thought she had cancer and was dying so she rushed her to the hospital and her hair was falling out in big clumps. Soon after she got to the ER she was completely bald. They scanned her and everything and they found no cancer. So they determined that the shampoo caused her hair to just fall out. The shampoo in question was "Johnson And Johnson Kids Shampoo", designed for kids up to 8. When she got out of the ER she looked liked she had just had kemo. Her hair didn`t grow back long, instead it grew back in a short pixie cut and it won`t go long again. SO DON`T USE THIS SHAMPOO ON YOUR KIDS IT MAY CAUSE THEM TO LOSE ALL THEIR HAIR. Just a warning.

I`d stay anonymous if I were you, or else "M`learned friends" may want to pay you a visit! Actually this mother doesn`t sound very bright, it`s the treatment that causes one`s hair to fall out, not the cancer - any fool knows that. Fancy her clogging up the health service when there are serious cases around. As for Johnson`s, I`ve always thought of it as the nearest there is to a neutral 7.0 Ph value and therefore the most harmless shampoo there is.

What a fable! Was the shampoo bottle sealed when the mom bought it? The one thing that comes to mind, if indeed this did occur, is that some harsh chemical could have been substituted. If baby shampoo really caused this, it would be all over the papers. Btw, I`ve used it for years on my children, and they all have thick, beautiful, heads of hair!

Also, Phil is absolutely right -- no hospital staff would "scan for cancer" because of loss of hair! Geez....

"Her hair didn`t grow back long, instead it grew back in a short pixie cut and it won`t go long again."

Interesting.....so how did the hair grow back in a certain style? Why not a bob? Or a crop? {grin}

And finally -- what were YOU drinking before you wrote this post?!
