This short story is not only a Blooper but a real Bummer !!
Just recently I had to cut 4 inches off the ends of my long hair.  I was helping my boyfriend burn piles of brush on his property that he's been clearing.  I was just to watch and tell him if the fire was going out...but I thought I'd be helpful and added more brush to the fire that was going out and the wind picked up.....and whoosh....it backdrafted onto my face and hair.  Luckily I had a cap on the top of my head or I would have had a reverse mohawk!!  I singed my eyelashes and eyebrows and the ends of my long hair that was hanging down in front...just melted together.  I've never seen burned hair and it stinks and feels like melted plastic.  Weird.  So, after seeing I was  OK, he then laughed and then asked what the hell I was thinking???  My hair is gray but I used to be a blonde.  Guess I had a delayed blonde moment.  DeadConfusedCryExclamation

Yes, we longhairs have to keep the hair up when doing dangerous tasks!  I'm glad you were not hurt more seriously!

Thank you for the concern.   Anxious for my 4 inches to grow back.
