Anyone know of a good smoothing spray. I've noticed that Matrix Smooth Iron and Chi Smooth Iron sprays have alcohol at the top of the ingredient list which is very drying to the hair.

I saw an advertisement for Sedu Iron Spray on Folica.com which looks pretty good since I don't believe I saw any alcohol in the ingredients. Any advice on this?

Any experts on good alcohol and bad alcohols in products??

Good alcohols are Cetearyl, Stearyl and Cetyl. These are fatty alcohols used to emulsify creams, shampoos and conditioners. They are actually good for your hair.

Alcohols to stay away from, Alcohol Denat also known as SD alcohol. This is a denaturalized form of Ethyl alcohol which is very drying and irritating.

As far as smoothing sprays go, all of them have some kind of alcohol in them. Usually the bad type. Try a smoothing serum instead. They work better and there are many without  the bad alcohols.

I love Redken Heat Glide. It really protects your hair, makes it beautiful and shiny and won't dry it out.

Good luck and great hair.
