I would really appreciate any advice on the poor condition of my hair. I have been ill recently and I also have heavily highlighted hair. It used to be OK but just recently I can't do anything with it. It's fairly short bobbed style but its incredibly dry with very frizzy ends and is frizzy and limp. It used to be thick but now it don't even seem to have any volume whatsoever. It feels rough and horrible. I use only professional products and I have an arsonal of them..costing loads of money....but nothing seems to work anymore. I have been using nexxus emergency recently to try to improve it but it just seems to get worse. Is there anything that I can do to help it improve. I live in the UK so please bear this in mind when recommending product ect. Thanks in advance.Cry

Illness and other physical trauma causes hair and skin to be unhealthy because the body neglects it to put extra nutrients into healing.  (stress does the same thing)  Vitamins may help.  Your hair being heavily highlighted makes things worse.  Also, it sounds like you may have overdone the products.  You may try doing a stripping wash to remove build-up, then do a deep conditioning treatment.

How often are you using nexus emergencee?  You should only use it once  a week...You should cut down (too much protein can make hair "crunchy" too) and see if that helps.
If it is hair being too limp and not thick enough, try Nioxin. It is the only thing I have found that really plumps hair up and adds body.

I've only used the nexxus emergencee about 3 times in  about 4 or 5 months so not too often. I've not tried the nioxin and I would like too...only trouble is that I live in the UK and would probably need to buy from the USA, this sometimes incurs duty charges which can be quite expensive....and always at the back of my mind is the fear that once again... I will buy another expensive product that won't work for me and I can't really afford to do that...If I was sure that it was gonna work I wouldn't hesitate to buy it but there's unfortunetly no way to be sure. Tell me Julesyjul88....doe's this product make your hair feel supple and soft again too? Mine hair's  kinda like cardboard at the moment and I'm desperate to get it back into condition. Thanks in advance.

This isnt what you want for softness. It plumps the hair from the inside, making it thicker. Hair feels stronger, but like most body building shampoos,it does not make your hair soft.
I know,it kinda sucks~either you have soft, flat hair,or full but not soft hair.
Have you ever used Infusium shampoo and conditioner? When my hair was blonde and felt very dry I'd always use this and felt it made my hair much softer and more managable.

I've tried infusium leave in conditioner before but not the shampoo. It was ok I guess but not as good on my hair as I would have liked. However, Since the original posting,  I have not used any straighteners or heat at all on my hair and have been conditioning my hair everyday but only shampooing every alternative day and Its beginning to improve I think. I also think that I had quite a build up of product on my hair which was just making it worse so I used a clarifying shampoo to begin with which made a difference immediately. I also think that over-use of GHD's have been causing breakage and frying the ends of the hair, and this why the hair appears to  be thinning a little and feels rough to the touch. Today it's feeling pretty good and much more  like it used to be... which is a relief. I'll look into getting it trimmed I think and  continue with the softly-softly approach until it hopefully returns to normal. Thanks so much for taking the time to help out though....much appreciated.Thumbs%20Up

What's a GHD?
So glad to hear your hair is doing better today! Clap

The shampoo for infusium is pretty good I think.Feels very moisterizing. Better to use both.
A trim is always a good idea when hair feels yucky. Even it is only a touch off the ends.

GHD hair straighteners. These are professional hair straighteners and get extremely hot but they are the Rolls Royce of hair straighteners....only problem is that if your hair is a little fragile then these will really cause a fast deterioration in it's condition.  Thanks once again for your advice... my hair is looking and feeling much better now.
