Alright, well I know it wasn't very smart of me to do this at home, or to belive the computerized outcome of the hair color but I was going for something like this:

So I went to the store and bought the suggested hair color and it didn't do anything to my hair except lighten my 4-month root grow out to a golden amber color, in other words brownish-orange!

In the picture it actually looks like an okay color but outdoors or in bright light it really doesn't look that flattering, especially since its only at the roots! I'm pretty sure I know why this happened. Probably from having dyed my hair dark brown for so many years it just won't take any color lighter then that.

...........so i was wondering what i could do to get my hair lighter. i've been thinking about a stripping kit? can anyone tell me about those? what do they do exacly and will it ruin my hair? how much does it cost and do you tink it's nessecary. i know some of you will say just go to a salon, please! but I just don't have that kind of money right now....

Well, u could always use Colorfix.U can get it at Sally's.it's about $13.00.This is for things like this.Don't worry if it turns your hair orange or yellow. It is suppose to do that.Going from Dark brown to a lighter shade won't work.Cuz color won't remove color. If u would have bleached it, it might have worked.I'd go the safer route & use Colorfix. Then after u use that u can color. It removes the hair color u have & gets your hair ready for a new color.Make sure u follow all the directions on the box. It's better u if use that instead of bleach.Plus, bleach would break your hair off & may actually turn your hair different colors since u already have 2 colors.Don't bleach it!!!! be safe!! U have healthy looking hair so far.I don't wanna see u end up with frizzy hair like mine.I have to flat iron mine cuz of the coloring I have done.Mine looks ok now, cuz I only touch up my roots.Other advice, when u find that product & color u like.Stick to that.Trying to change a product will usually end up bad.Trust me I know!! I have been coloring my hair since I was 12 & Im 31 now. Be careful!! Let me know how it works for u.

great! will color fix ruin my hair? my hair isn't as healthy as you think it looks. I may need to get a trim of about 3 or 4 inches cus my ends are sh*t from trying to do a blonde underlay a couple of months ago.

Wow haha it is old! I guess I forgot about this site because I never ran out and got colorfix I just dyed it dark brown all over and have been doing extensions ever since. I also got a hair cut about a month ago... (first time in a year... i was going out my hair) and than butchered it with thinning shears... it looked pretty bad and uneven but it works for the extensions... my hairs super thin now, but a good advantage as I don't have to have 6 rows of extensions, now ony 3 rows... no mullet look either... as far as i know :)

first install... with thick hair... probably like 6 rows. dont have any pics of my latest install... my cameras been missing for like half a year... :(
