Hello Ladies!

So after week 2 of my Modu Pre Curl I'm having some issues. It's losing its curl a bit and is not as shiny and wonderful as it was when I first installed it. In fact, I had to curl it this morning to make it look okay. Grrrr....

When I had a weave for a year or so, I only ever used silky straight hair (Hollywood Pro) which I used to curl if I wanted curl. I don't ever remember having issues with it, even when I used another brand. That is, the straight hair seemed to stay in better conditioner for a longer period of time.

So, my question is this - Is straight hair (generally speaking) better because when it has curl, it is processed more? I'm thinking that perhaps they torture the hair during production more when it is curled.

I'd appreciate feedback from you hair aficionados out there!

Thanks so much!

Hello-
I have definitely noticed with SOME hair that the SS lasted a bit better.
But it depends on the origin of the hair in the first place.
In my experiences, Indian fairs better wavy processed and Asian fairs better straight processed. I suppose since the Asian is primarily straight before processing gives it this advantage, and visa versa with the Indian.
Most of the hair you have mentioned in non- remy, therefore, only so much can be expected of it. Non-remy hair, no matter the brand, will eventually turn to straw once the coatings wear off (chemical coatings put on during processing to make the hair smooth and shiny temporarily). Some brands seem to have better coatings and healthier hair to start with, but it all is non-remy.
You might entertain trying a remy wavy to see if your results will be more to your liking. In the long run, spening a little more on Remy will save you $$ since you are not constantly replacing the non-remy everytime you install. Unless you dig on changing the hair all the time- in that case, you might not mind throwing the hair away after each install. Just depends on what you prefer...
xx

I noticed if you buy hair that had a natural wave in the first place it won't lose the wave. The Russian hair I'm wearing has not lost it's wave or shine at all.

I agree with Lil'Bohemian.. All the brands of hair you mention are non-remy hair, and the problems you are having with the hair not looking quite as lovely weeks later has more to do with the quality of the hair you are using.. (versus whether the hair is straight or curly) I too suggest that you begin looking at higher quality remy hair. I think you will find that you get much better wear and results from remy hair regardless of whether it is straight or curly hair..

OMG!! I am so sorry It didn't work for you Cat_Goddess..I feel so bad recommending the hair and then doing that to you!! So sorry.
I must have gotten a "good hair batch" because my Modu lasted for ever.
Apply Proclaim Gloss with Olive Oil...and condition the hair.Curly hair need  to be deep conditioned a lot.
That is the thing about Curly hair, if you are not used to deal with it it can be a nightmare.

Again,I am so so sorry!! It worked for me. So to anyone that had issues with that hair, I am so sorry girls. I put my reviews with the best intentions.
