| Anyone experienced with Invisible Hair extensions? I have very fine thin hair and I've heard these are the best kind of extensions to use for fine hair since they are attached to the scalp. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them? How is the hair quality? |

No extension method I've heard of is actually attached to your scalp.. However, if this is the method I am thinking about, it's the one where they tie individual strands of hair (2-5) to individual strands of your own hair your own natural hair.. They are supposed to last 9 months or more (with maintenance and fill ins etc) However, based on your own natural hair's shedding and growth they will require constant maintenance IMO.. (e.g as your hair sheds, the individual strands will shed with them therefore they will require some level of replacement/maintenance every few weeks) ------------- Check out the 5th So Cal offline luncheon?? I wasted $1200 on taking the Invisible Extensions class a few years ago. It is by far the WORST hair extension method that I have ever used.
It is basically 'hair grafts' (i.e. hairpieces )glued to your scalp with Max Grafting hairpiece adhesive.
I wore them myself for two weeks (that's all I could stand) and put them on a few clients. Here's what I hated about them:
The hair graft is bonded onto your scalp and when it lifts (after a few days) moisture gets trapped underneath so it never really dries. The moisture caused bacteria growth, which in turn caused insane itching. I called Dawn, the creator of Invisible Hair, and she finally admitted this was a common problem, and she recommended that I use vinegar to ease the itching. I probably soaked my head in a whole vat of vinegar, and it didn't help. My clients also experienced crazy bad itching.
Max Grafting adhesive is a great hairpiece adhesive for applying hairpieces to bald clients, but it is not made for bonding over hair. It's too strong of a glue and it will rip out your natural hair and cause bald spots.
So, after two weeks, I couldn't stand the itching and tried to remove my extensions. The glue was so strong that I lost a whole baggie of my natural hair, and my hair is already super thin to begin with.
When I went to remove them from one of my clients (who also couldn't stand the itching), she lost gobs of hair too. That was the only time in my hair career, when removing the extensions, I actually had to hide the natural hair that was ripping out by stuffing it in my pockets to keep the client from freaking out. I was horrified about how much hair came out.
