Ok, so I'm looking for the scoop on shrinks. What kinds have you used and liked or didn;t like? Which ones shrink down the most? Do you find a hotter wand makes a difference??

I used the clear ones from shrinkies.net and wasn't totally inlove with them. Some didn't shrink, some split and they got really thick when they shrunk.

I'm going to place an order for shrinks & microlinks to experiment for my summer installs, but I wanna know what you guys think about the different shrinks....

Too funny!  Nope, I just knew we aren't 'allowed' to use the shrink** term, so to avoid any flare ups, I used the generally accepted term of shrinks...

I found the same problem with some shrink tubes I got from ebay, however, my favourite cyber shop sells SHRINKIES in the UK, and I have always been very happy with the results.

hi nicey,

I think they sell adhesive lined ones too, but I havn't used them.  I am happy with the regular ones and find they shrink down very tightly.  I use the Balmain Heat Applicator which gets very hot.  What sort of applicator did you use Nicey?

i have used a fair few to be honest! got the balmain products too..

the shrinks that have no adhesive linning are really just the same!
of course this is just my findings!

you seem pretty happy with things from that vendor as you always say how good they are.

kudos to you!

i just expect much more for my money. and like a little customer service too.

someone told me that the adhesive lined SHRINKIES can ooze glue out at the top and bottle and can be quite messy so have never fancied trying them

I'm new to extensions, and have been practicing with adhesive lined shrinks (amm's) the last few days.  I've been playing with the seconds I hold the heat on them and slightly changing temp control, doing trial and error on a mannequin. No ooze from the shrinks.
When I slack on my technique, I don't have the fusion wand completely over the shrink, so it's heating the prebond tip. Too many seconds, and it's melting the prebond on the tip. THAT could be the ooze 'someone' is referring to.  Either I need to trim my tips, or order the extended length ones, lol.
I love these things!!

(edited to correct myself using the shrink word)

Nicey if you want me to send you some of the shink tubes I have used from a UK company I can send you some for you to test.  They are adhesive lined and I have had batches that have worked and others that havent.  I ended up buying mine in bulk from Amm.

If you pm me your address I will gladly send you some in the post from the UK supplier.  You might beable to work with them but anyway let me know.
