Because I have lightbrown/reddish hair, and I cannot go lighter to save my life (without bleaching that is, but I dont to go THAT light!) I picked up a champagne blonde that (when i looked at the color swatches on the box) assured me it would get me blonde, or a nice reddish blonde... but twhen I did it this monring, it came out barely a shade lighter than it was when I started!
I`m sad, I miss being blonde :( Is my hair to blame, of am I trying to lighten too many levels with the dye and I need to bleach (in which case, I`ll just let it grow out and not mess with it anymore, my poor dry hair)
Thanks everyone :)

the answer to your question is no. the reason why your hair isnt getting lighter is because color will never lift color. the color pigmentation already in your hair cant be changed by trying to go over it with another color. the only way u could do what u want to do is to bleach your hair out, and THEN dye it the color of your choice. happy coloring!
