I need sone help determining my skin tone. When I read articles about determining skin tone I seem to fall into the cool category but what throws me off is my eye color. i have hazel eyes with green around the outer edge. I definately look better in silver than gold but now I am really confused. The reason why I am asking is because I want to lighten my hair and I am unsure of the tones that I want to use. Currently I have gold highlights and I think it looks horrible. I will try to figure out how to post a picture! thanks for any advice, allyssa

A month or two ago I was trying to figure out mine as well because I also wanted to go lighter! I ended up doing a LOT of research (just 'cause I wanted to be sure), but I have dark blue eyes so it was a little easier for me. I figured out I'm cool. (In both senses of the word  )
I will say that my hair was a golden blonde, and it looked bad. So if you have gold highlights and they don't look good, you're probably cool. Thanks for the link, it's great! What color did you end up getting? I am pretty sure I fall into the cool category because gold looks horrible on me and washes me out. The color prior to this one (chocolate brown) looked better on me but it was too dark. I am a natural level 7 ither neutral or ash depending on which stylist I asked! thanks again, allyssa |

I actually went platinum blonde! Crazy, right? But I love it. The upkeep is going to be $$ especially since I'm a starving college student but it's worth it. But yeah, if chocolate brown was too dark and gold washed you out, I'm sure you're a cool. Glad I could help...I'm no expert!
