hi i need help!
i've been wearing a clip in extension piece forevvvvvvver (almost a year now) and i'm extremely sick of taking it in and out every single day. i'm looking for something more permenant, especially for the summer so i could go swimming or do normal things, but i have really specific hair that i'm scared of messing up...it's really thin, like unusually thin, more thin on top. i've been looking into fusion extensions or sewing them in..i'm not really sure. i heard that sewing weighs down the hair you already have and could pull it out...which is honestly the last thing i need. i need to hold on to what i have. buti 've also heard that the glue from fusion could rip out your hair too. ahhh i'm really at a loss. and i can only spend around $500 for everything. if anyone has had a similar situation or has any advice i'd love to hear back. my self esteem would benefit greatttly

I too wore clip ins for a year and got really tired of it.
Now I have one track that sewn in, double wefted. I'm really
happy with this method. If you do the sew in, you need to find a
braider that won't braid too tight.

Having hair that is thin is always hard.  I'm in that same situation.  I've worn almost every method on the market, some I liked better than others.  I also wore clip ins for about 5 years, and I liked it, but like you, I feel its nice to wake up with your hair on!

Whatever method you do, make sure the person takes extreme care applying and removing the extensions.  You may find that your hair is not strong enough to support  extensions 24/7.  For some people with thin hair, their hairs are not 'anchored' into the scalp as well, so it's easy to pull out the hairs.

My hair is so genetically fine and thin, I really should not be wearing extensions at all, but I do.  I trained an assistant do do them for me, and she is so patient and really takes her time to becareful with my hair.  You need to find a stylist who will do that as well.

And, no matter what method I do, I lose gobs of hair upon removal.  The clip ins also make my hair thin more in the temples too.

Anyway, just investigate all your options.

Best of luck to you!

I'll second what the others said.

Personally, with strand by strand, it's hard to get the fullness and get it blended ()unless you have long hair) so you end up wanted to take the extensions higher. And if your hair is thin on the top, it might show through a lot.

I would say you might want to try the sew in, and like everyone else said, work with someone who has some experience with thin hair. You might even want to try a closure or something if you are really thin on top, I've seen a few women with them and they look amazing!!

I have the same problem also and I use a top piece on top - its the best way to get the fullness you need on top as any other method is not really putting the hair where you need it most.

I use a combination of liquid gold and micro links to bond mine, and havent noticed it getting any thinner over the last 16 or so months i have been doing this.

However I dont know where you could get this done for under $500 - unless you happen to live in Australia, brisbane, where i could do it for you LOL
