With a little bit of delay, here's my last install experience with Bohyme hair and first time with LG double sandwich technique....
My take-down wasn't too bad. The Protac had been in my hair for 6 weeks, a record for me, that I don't plan on doing again, since the tapes were sort of 'melting' on the wefts in some parts. Shocked
The wefts, that were 4 months old already, were so sticky for some of them, that I was grossed out at the idea of putting them back on my head.
I cleaned all the wefts but some of them were just so sticky still that I decided to use some new fresh Bohyme hair I had in reserve.
Totally unplanned, but I just couldn't put these sticky wefts back in. Confused
Fot this new install I tried to use the full length of 3 of the handtied wefts.
I did the double sandwich technique for the first time on long and very long wefts.
I thought this technique was kind of tricky, and can get bulky very fast.
After HOURS of work in my bathroom, and the fumes of pure acetone and LG I started to feel sick Vomit , but I had to finish my job though!
Wink
I had a few problems with wefts that were glued with LG, slidding right out of my hair, putting LG all over my natural hair + extensions, because the bond wasn't dried yet. I wasn't used to wait for the drying /blowdrying of LG. What a huge mess! I had to clean up some areas of my head without screwing the work I had already done, and I was slowly running out of Acetone!
I still did my litlle tape+LG combo for the top rows, to make these wefts as invisible as possible and the rest all with LG.
I am kind of nervous to see how it holds, but I am glad to not have much tape in anymore!!!
Also, one of the double-sandwich I did with LG was ugly/bulky and kind of showing so I decided to take it out and re-do it this morning.
I know that some of you have problems with 'fresh' LG, I didn't. I used acetone of the bonds, then Goo Gone on the hair to get rid og the little pieces of Protac, then comb with a thin comb, and it was fine.
Goo Gone is so useful for me, I used it to take out the stickiness of the tapes out of my own hair, I find that it is the best. I poured a lot of it on my head, massaged and comb, then shampooed 2 or three times with Neutrogena anti-residus shampoo. Then blowdry. Then apply Goo Gone on the still-sticky areas, massage+shampoo a couple of times and blowdry.
I lost a lot of hair again after take-down, hair that I hope was just stuck in the tapes for the past 6 weeks and should have shedded naturally.
I have about 4 new handtied Bohyme wefts and about 2 'old' (4 month old) individual wefts in right now.
What a difference new hair makes! It looks so much fuller, even though it is still 4 oz.
I guess it is maybe one of the reason why some of you use new hair?... not because the 'old one' is ugly and tangly, but because it has shedded and has lost its normal density?...
So anyway, here are the pics! ...

Hi BB!

My hair is very short, and VERY damaged. It's at jaws level I'd say

I've just added a picture of my real and damaged hair... It's going to take me a long time to grow it, but I have found the right technique for me now, and I am optimistic!

Hey Frenchie! I'm thrilled that my double sandwich technique is working out for you! I figured out a novel way to do a tutorial with pictures that will actually allow people to see the placement of the wefts that I've had such a hard time describing. I'm working on the tutorial right now!

Yep, so far LG has been great for me, better than anything else, I am just waiting to see if it holds up to 4 weeks for me.
That would be great if we had a good double sandwich LG demo with pics, last time-and only time- I did it, I was so busy and nervous that I would do something wrong, that taking pics would have been a little too much to handle for me!

I think it would be kind of tricky to do pics on your own head with this. Even a mannikin didn't work right when I tried it. I've come up with a nifty way to demo the double sandwich and get good pictures of the placement of the wefts. I'll be posting it soon!
