Hey Everyone,

I have looked through many of the old threads. It is soooo confusing. I was wondering what opinions everyone has on pre-tipped hair for a DIY install. What are your favorite brands?

I usually wear 4/30 and will probably add some highlights too. What are some of the better brands in silky straight or natural body?

I am conflicted about whether or not to buy them pre-tipped for my first install or whether to buy the hair and tip it myself. I would do that, but, I am concerned about overwhelming myself on my first install.

Help! lol

I love pre-tipped extensions. I had good luck with a guy on ebay, and I also love D-LUX pre-tips, but it did shed a lot, so I realized you can heat them and re-roll them which helps cut down on the shedding. But those were my 2 favorites as far as tips go.

It is nice to pre-tip because there is more selection, and you can make them bigger or smaller, but let me tell you, it is SOO MUCH WORK!!!!! What I would suggest, if you are doing your first install, and you are excited, maybe go with buying pre-tipped ones.

In the future, you can DIY, but how I would do it, is when you have tons of time before you want to install, is do some here and there, so it's not so overwhelming.

I tried the new Dlux tips and really liked them. The keratin is clear and seems harder. the only thing I noticed is that I had to roll fast because they cooled down quick....I've been thinking about getting some more for red highlites....I think they are still on sale too, but be sure you are getting the new ones, not the older ones that shed....

I did my own pre-tips using bohyme and LG, with a nice top coat of nail glue to seal them up. I use micros so I didn't want to go through the hassle of them being keratin tipped and the risk of them melting if they got to hot. Seems to be very very little shedding.

Hey Ladies,

Thanks for all the advice. You guys are great. Have any of you ever tried Doctored Locks pre-tipped remy hair? Their price is pretty good too and they have a silky yaki texture.
