 O.K. hair lovers out there. I bet you never thought you could be tearing your healthy or already damaged hair right out of your head every time you comb. YEP! lets take that favorite comb and check it out, what do you notice? Never even thought about it did you? well look again, took me 49 yrs to discover I was using bad hair combs. slowly thinning my already chemically treated delicate head of hair. look between the tines(teeth) or feel, there will be a seam, this is what tears your hair, cheaply made combs. Guess what, you will never find a well made comb in a local beauty supply or drug store, and if you ask about it, clerks will not have a clue...ordered mine on internet, you may get lucky at SAlly's (only had a plastic wide tooth for wet hair).... time to throw out the combs ladies....invest in a Seamless hair comb. you will find that you will loose only the normal amount of hair. so don't add to hair loss. I use a wide tooth comb when my hair is wet(hair is at its weakest when wet I use a ox horn comb for normal use.....good investment, it's a natural hair comb , that actually helps headaches and circulation. but you cant get it wet, clean it with lanolin or another type of safe oil..it really does not hold dirt...it carries your natural oil from your scalp down hair shaft and also removes other bad particules from hair...DO your research. HAPPY COMBING... AFRO AMERICAN ladies STOP BRUSHING TOO!.  I stopped brushing 9 months ago, if I do it is only to pull into ponytail, not going down the entire hair shaft, only to smooth the top of head. (rarely though) |

go to tenderheaded.con they sale seamless combs. You can try SAlly's for the seamless wide tooth shower comb, brand is Jilbere, it look like an afro rake in plastic...pretty cool, yo can hang it in the shower my every day comb is an ox horn....I could only it find it reasonable on ebay but you can get it from this site www.longhairs.com this is a very wild and busy site to read thru and figure out but here you can view and read up on the medicinal properties of the ox or sheep comb. you can not get these combs wet....dry combing only I also do the itchy skritcy technique twice a day. read thru that site and you see what i m talking about ------------- Nothing Beats a Failure but a Try! I hope soon that I can get one of these combs, it is absolutly wonderful what people come up with. By the way does anyone know if the combs are actual animal horns, that's pretty sad if it is?

I agree with you. I stopped brushing my hair 5 months ago and it's done wonders for my hair. I didn't realize how much hair I was ripping out of my scalp and breaking off my ends by brushing. Now I use a wide-toothed comb to detangle my hair. I admit that the wide-toothed comb I use is plastic. I've heard that plastic combs can take out your hair as well, but I haven't noticed this as of yet. I think I'll invest in a natural wooden comb, though. My hair needs every chance it can get.
