Hello everyone. I have always had long hair until about 5 yrs ago, when I slowly started cutting it off shorter and shorter. I must say I do like short hair better, but I haven`t had my hair cut much above my shoulders though. Here is the thing, my hair is so limp, and so hard to fix. I have two little girls and I don`t have time to mess with it much. I have thought about going with a VERY short haircut. I am kinda scared of this though, because I am overweight. I have heard that short hair on an overweight person makes them look bigger. I don`t want to look any bigger, I am 26 yrs old "I still want to be semi attractive." My face is oval, and my hair has no volume. I tend to get frustrated trying to fix my hair, that I end up throwing my brush in the floor, and pinning my hair back. I need some advice please. I`ve been cutting my wife`s hair for years (who incidently is also overweight). At the longest it has been about 6" past her shoulders and the shortest I ever cut it was an angled chin length bob. I think she looks much better with her hair longer than shorter (at least to her shoulders). She has a heart shaped face but the xtra pounds rounds it out more. When I cut it to her chin it curled under just enough to make her face look rounder and heavier than it already did. We both agreed the best cut she had was just brushing her shoulders and layered. Lots of body and movement and long enough to draw some of the weight off her face. If you would like some additional info/suggestions please email me and we can talk.

Hi,

From my observations of women, it does seem that bigger girls do tend to look better with their hair longer. Shorter styles tend to give the appearance that you are bigger, whereas the longer styles, do seem to hide it a bit more and are more flattering.

While your hair might seem to be a bit of a nuisance, please think long and hard before you go and cut it off, as I`d hate for you to feel awful about yourself with a short haircut that doesn`t suit you.
