Hello everyone!
I'd appreciate a little help. I've been growing out my bleached blonde top section since October. I am a natural redhead and have a significant amount of roots.
Can anyone please tell me how I can colour over it to match my own colour as much as possible? Is there any way I can stop the colour from slipping out, as is often the case with colouring on bleached hair? I don't mind the roots at the moment but it will get to the stage where something needs to be done.

Coloring over bleached hair is hard, it will come off eventually, and if you go red your hair will likely fade to peach, and I'm not sure there's much you can do about it, except redo it frequently. Your hair is just very porous after it has been bleached, so dye slides off and reds slide off quicker than most dyes. Using a protein filler first before dying it should help some. If you can't acquire a filler to do it yourself in the UK, they should be able to do that at a salon. (In the US we get that stuff at beauty supply shops, and I thought I remembered someone in the UK saying they couldn't shop there). If you're going to do it yourself, be sure to test strand because if your hair is white enough, the color will likely come out very bright.

Susan is right,although color depositing shampoos can help somewhat with fading.Also,I have read on this forum many times that semi-permanent is better to use since it only deposits color and has no peroxide to lighten hair.(because if you're trying to add color,the last thing you want is something that has more lightner in it)
When I first went from blonde to brown,I had some fading initially. I colored about every 3 weeks with a semi (natural instincts) for about 2-3 months and then the color stopped fading altogether.

That's a good point Jules, about both. As an added bonus, pigment depositing shampoo sticks wonderfully to bleached hair.

Cheers ladies.
It looks like I'll have to get the colour done, and refresh it every couple of months. Having 5-6 inches of natural hair and then bleach is starting to look a little ridiculous.
