my dad has ssssssssuuuuuuuupppppppppppeeeerrrrrrrrrr fine hair and it is about 2 in on top and about 3\ 4ths of an in on the sides and back. it very oily too. all he does is comb it forward with no gel or anything in it. it looks very nice but some times he would like to try something different please something that you wont have to fuss with or takes a long time to fix.it is thinish on top and he is age 47. thanx so much,jules

Hmm well if its very oily he should use a clarifying shampoo and no conditioner. He should also wash his hair EVERY day.

Well, there probably isn`t much he can do with it besides wear it short and let it do what it wants. I have super fine hair too and it is difficult to deal with. Gels and things like that really won`t work since they only weigh fine hair down, especially if it is oily already. He could try blowing it dry for a bit more volume but I would be willing to bet that he wouldn`t consider that for even a minute. I am 45 myself, and I have found that guys my age don`t want to do anything to their hair except maybe wash it. He could get it cut very short all around except for maybe a bit of length left in the front. Usually the shorter the better with fine hair. Good luck to both of you.
