My hair starts breaking off about an inch above my length ( it has a little white spot, and of course, if I barely pull, it breaks off). Does anyone know what I can do (or use) to avoid breakage~besides the obvious of not pulling it? :)

Your "white spot" comment has me a little concerned. Assuming your breakage is due to dry hair or harsh chemicals, I have gotten really good results with ApHOGEE Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer. My hair is covered with those white spots (I don`t use heat implements or blowdry, color, or brush wet hair). How do I prevent these spots?

Also, I am hesitant to use the ApHogee b/c I have very thick, poufy hair and don`t want more body. Isn`t ApHogee for ethnic hair only?

There are a number of causes for white spots on the hair shaft (including loss of pigment). You might want to consult a dermatologist to find out just what is causing them in your hair. If you are reluctant to try some products to combat dry hair, I can recommend a home remedy. I had great luck with honey/olive oil and jojoba treatments. Recently I tried MOMOI oil and am greatly impressed with the results. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand and massage into the hair. Shampoo out after 10 or 15 minutes. The oil will enter the hair and replace the natural oils, giving your hair natural body and sheen. Really wonderful results!!

Is it lack of moisture or is it due to wear and tear (blow dryer, curlers)? I thought this only happened to people with baby fine, thin hair like mine? When I pull on the spot, it tears off, and I have a new split-end, but now, it is 2 inches up.......I went to Sally`s today and purchased the Aphogee. Hopefully, it will do its trick! Thanks a ton!

Monoi oil can be found at some health food stores or on line. The Long Hair Lovers web site has their own version of it, along with other fine organic products.
