Short story, after High school at the age of 18 I took up a 2nd job to
pay for school. I was working ~60 hours a week for about 2 months. My
2nd job was pretty stressful and I was always doing physical work
(custodian @ Disneyland, which is a suck ass job btw) Ever since then
my hair hasn't looked the same, it looks damaged and I believe I have
split ends. Ever 2-3 months I cut my hair with a 7 on top and 4 on the
sides but I still see those strands up hair sticking up above the
others. I'm asking if anyone who has been through a similar situation with stress and what seems to be damaged hair, that can recommend some type of product. At the moment I'm using Suave Shampoo + Conditioner (because it whats around the house) Thank you No I am not losing hair, I believe I have split ends and damaged hair from the stress of working two jobs and haven't treated it. |

| Sometimes I cut it, sometimes I have it cut @ a barber shop, its a very simple cut and theres no need for a salon to do it. |

I did that. I went through a major surgery and two very trying emotional experiences within a year. My hair wasn't falling out, but it was breaking like crazy. I was loosing length because it was breaking off faster than it was growing.
The way I understand it is that when you're under physical stress, your body puts all available nutrients into healing itself. That robs other parts of the body from necessary nutrients. So it's important to eat very healthy (probably increase vitamins and protein) and get plenty of rest.
Working 60 hours a week most likely means that you were repeatedly exhausting your body and not giving it time to recover. You probably weren't getting enough sleep, and probably weren't eating right either. The best thing you can do is fix that part. It's the simplest solution, but the hardest to actually do. Ok, Stress can cause problems with your hair, usually it has more to do with falling out that looking damaged. I think maybe, since you have been working such long hours, your diet and water intake have not been what they should be. You probably haven't been conditioning your hair properly either. Pair that up with the stress and you got problems.
Also, when people cut their hair at home, when they used clippers, they tend to end up with split ends. That is because the blades are usually not sharp enough(that, and the clippers are usually not professional ones), and it causes the ends to split, causing the hair to appear damaged.
I would: Stop cutting my hair at home, increase my water intake, take some biotin for my hair, and use a good conditioner. Use a good leave conditioner as well. That really helps. I use Sebastian Potion 9 which works great for me. It is expensive but worth it. Eat alot of greens if you are the kind of person that can stand it (I can not eat a salad for my life) Greens are probably the best thing you can do to your hair. I really wish I could eat them. I have tried, but I start to gag! Also Cod Fish Oil gel caps are really good, not just for hair, but for skin as well.
