It doesn't say what it's called, but the lady sort of vaguely explains what the stylist is doing. Taking a bit of hair and tying it with thread, putting a knot in the thread and so on. After that she just sews the weave on.
Again, she stays a bit vague... .

this method actually looks quite effective :) ...
What does everyone else think? Anyone tried it?
Looks like the weft is really thick...

The only thing that would worry me would be slippage.  How long does it last etc.

I'm going to try a diff version of it soon, ussing small dental rubber bands instead of thread since it's a DIY track. I'll post pics n all when I get around to it - I have to hand-tie my weft first.

I don't know, it looks kind of painful to me... . I could be wrong, of course

I believe that's the Malaysian method, I'll have to check my hair videos. It's good if you don't know how to cornrow. Some people do it for a flatter foundation. It doesn't have to be as tight as that. Cornrowing is faster and you can get a flat braid with it too.

Do you think its easy to do.....it's just knotting sections of hair from one side of the head, to the other working steadily across right? i wonder if you'd need a specific type of thread to obtain least slippage. I'm actually intrigued by this method! I might try it out if i can get my hands on a manequin head that had more than half its haif left LOL

I believe they use weave thread the type you use to sew in tracks.
I'll check now for my video.
