i decided to put some braids to give my hair a break and let them grow a bit. but my problem is since my hair is thin i'd always fear to wash it with the braids on.i've a feeling that my hair will break off and fall out when i'll get the braids out.
so i wanted to know: -how often you wash your hair extentions? (once,twice a week or everyday) -which frequence is safer? -is there any particulary shampoo to make them stronger and thicker? -how do you dry them with less or none damage to the hair? i know it's a lot to ask but your advice and your personal experience will surely help. thanks !  ------------- current length : on the neck goal : past shoulders |

I'm not wearing braids right now but I wash 2-3 times per week and my crown area just about daily. I'll wash more in the summer if needed. I don't believe any shampoo will make hair stronger but I do avoid harsh detergents like clarifying shampoos. Amm, how do you just wash your crown area and not the rest of your hair? Do you mean everything gets wet and you only put the shampoo on your crown area? Do you condition everything else every day? Steph, when you say your hair is thin do you mean fine or is it thinning? Can you see your scalp since it's thin? I would think if your hair is not in the condition to braid than your braider wouldn't do it? Do you know someone who is honest and reputable? ------------- |

Hey, M. I have long, sweeping layers on top and fingercomb them forward while keeping the length pulled back in a ponytail. I wash those top long layers in the sink, blowdry and style them in with the extension layers.
