| If there are any people here with straight hair let me know your method and if I need to buy any products. I talked to my barber and he said all I need is a little pomade mixed with wax and durag. He said I dont need to brush too much. NOW I respect my barber alot but I dont know if he was right about brushing. So if you got straight hair (im Ethiopian descent to give you an idea) holla at me with a simple method. Appreciate it. |

I could be like everyone and tell u to search the boards.
But i'll give u a lil advice.
First off, show pics of ur hair if u can. It's kind of hard to solve a problem without knowin what the problem looks like.
I got some friends who are Ethopian or Somalian and they pretty much have that wavy-ish frizzy type hair.
If ur hair isn't low already, cut it down low and start trainin it to grow forward instead of upward. U can do this by wettin ur hair, brushin, and wearing a wave cap to sleep. Keep trainin ur hair by using a lot of brushin, and wave-cappin. Don't ever sleep wit out a wavecap.
Let ur hair grow out for atleast 3 to 4 weeks and u should see some results.
Trust. This comin from a guy wit relatively straight hair. -------------

Yep^ And isn't Don Twista Ethiopian? He's barely ever on here but look up his posts and try to find his method. But you should actually be brushin even more since ur hair is straight. I used to have straight hair on the top before I got my waves to come in. The only advice I can give you is to brush -------------

Your Ethiopian, that's cool im Eritrean( rite next to it fo yall who dnt noe and it's by the Red Sea). The modern state of Eritrea gained its independence from Ethiopia following a 30-year war that lasted from 1961 to 1991. So im basically Ethiopian too (Habisha). Welcome to the site. I needa see pics of your hair. Most people tell me i got that good east african hair. Some think im mixed because i got that good texture.( yall will see pics of my hair on tomorrows battle) -------------  |

Yeah Im full Ethiopian. We got soft straight hair for the most part. But not as straight as lets say Dominicans or Ricans. Here is a picture before I got a cut yesterday. This picture shows about two weeks of work. My barber said people with straighter hair should not brush that much (max 10 minutes a day). I dont know if he's right. So Im looking for some of your opinion. I realize I got to wolf but for how long? Do any of yall have experience wolfing with this type of hair? Also what products? Is a thicker pomade better for straight hair or something else? How often do I use the products? How often do I shampoo the products out? Do yall have more success with durags or caps? I know its alot of questions. Appreciate the help again, its just harder for us East Africans. I'll post more recent pics soon.

| about 8 weeks. i got a dark ceasar right now. my hair does curl up for about 4 weeks, thats when the real work starts. on average how much time you spend brushing a day? |

aight we got pics of ur hair so i can help you out now some
when you wolf wolf for a LONG time not short amounts of time and then get it trimmed and keep going
use scurl so it helps the process of curling your hair more than it is right now
keep using carrot creme
and when your hairs wet brush it with a softy, keep using a softy while ur wolfing and once u get to the point in wolfing that the softy doesnt keep ur hair down use a hard brush
and when you go to the barber
never get it cut to low i cant stress that enough cause ur just gonna take out all ur progress cause ur hairs "straight"
but hey
if you need some help with some things pm me or frizzle cause im pretty sure either of us could help
EDIT
and for the waves that yall see that are forming different
its not cause hes brushing incorrectly (but it can be)
cause i brush my hair correctly and when it gets close to the hair line the waves like go down instead of straight if you see what im saying its like im trying to brush my hair line in an an angle when im not
i would show a pic but my cameras batterys are charging.......they always go dead when you wanna use them anyone notice that?\

now look at the right close to my hair line and u see the wave thats going in an angle?
well i can brush my hair the correct way
and its going to stay facing that way nothing i can do about it, it does it on the other side to with my edge and my hairline
