I am currently using a balmain iron which cost me about $300.00.  I honestly dont think its any better than a $100.00 iron but they promised it was the best so I got it a year ago.  Now I feel like it is not heating up as well.  It takes my Shrinkies about 8 seconds each to fully shrink!  Can anyone tell me which is the best iron for the shrinkies.  I usually finish a whole head in about 3 hours or so.  I think with a better iron I may do two to 2 1/2 hours.
Thanks

I think 8 seconds is the average shrink time for shrinkies.  I use the 'pro' version of shrinkies, called Shrink Links, and the company advises you to shrink each link at least 8 seconds to get the most holding power.

I have used the cheapo fusion iron from http://www.wimexbeauty.com - www.wimexbeauty.com and I love it.   It gets really hot and only cost $34!

8 seconds is not bad. If you have an iron that's doing the job in that time frame and it's staying at the temp you want, keep it. No need to pay out $ for another wand.

Thanks for all the good advise.  I'll just keep the one I have and save the $.
