Hi. I’m seriously considering a sew in weft. I’m not sure how many tracks or any of that yet but found a good site for hair. Now the problem is finding someone that does this technique on caucasian hair. I live in New Hampshire (I know the boonies) but we do have Boston close by
It’s just been a needle in a haystack trying to find anyone on the net and even if you do, it’s hard to say if they can work with silky fine white hair.
So does anyone on the east coast here have a place they know of that can do this method of extension? I can drive within reason but with gas prices, probably 3 hours would be the cut off because I have to keep in mind maintenance of the weave. Thanks.

I'd so a simple craigslist or yellowpages or google type search for any of the big cities that are around you, that way even if thhey dont' have a webstie you can get a phone number to call and find out if they do caucasian hair. there really isn't a HUGE difference between doing one with african american or kinkier textured hair and finer silkier hair, so if you find someone close by it might be worth a little bit of a risk, just make sure (with any braider) they don't make them too tight for your comfort level (of your scalp and your folicles) DivaVocals will chime in I bet since she's always the one to give out sew-in advice :)

Thanks. I did do a search on craigslist (thanks forgot about that) but so far all i have found is another person asking if anyone can do sew in wefts! hehe. I will keep looking. There is also a salon in the Boston area called Olive's that looks promising so I emailed them.

If you go to yahoo local and do a search on braiders you will most likely find places.

hey krisma, you might want to try the blackhairmedia, weaves/extensions forum. The ladies over there are experts in sewins and I'll bet they will know of someone in your area!

I will try them. They are pretty cool over there and know their stuff. I did speak with (via email) the lady over at that one salon in Boston I posted further up and she seems okay and fine with the sew ins as that is her specialty. Unless I hear something terrible about her salon I will probably go to her at least for this first sew in and see how it comes out.
I did take your advice and post on Black Hair Media in case someone there knows of a braider closer than Boston. Boston is about eh, an hour and a half I would say so thats not too bad, expecially if you find someone good. I figure if I can go at least 6 weeks in between the driving wont kill me but closer would be nice. I worry about getting it done and then having a problem and im 3 hours from the salon and its halfway dangling off my head or something.
