Gwyneth never needs a haircut.

The last few event photos or candid shots I've seen of her, she *has* looked in need of a haircut, in my opinion---I thought her waist-length hair looked less flattering than her previous shoulder-length styles. But nothing looked so good on her as that short cut from "Sliding Doors." Of course, I love that movie & think she and John Hannah had such great chemistry. My favorite of all her films:

The long stringy look in HopeB's post doesn't do a thing for me; the second picture is one of her best looks.  I think she needs to keep it above the shoulder.

OMG, Hope, that first photo you displayed is amazing. Can you guide me to more just like it? Gwyneth often has dark roots (see the photo Dave Decker provided), but her hair looks pretty much perfect to me with long hair otherwise.

Kramer,
All the Gwyneth photos are from a very elegant photo gallery & fansite devoted to Gwyneth called "Classic Talent." I found it when I was looking for screencaps from "Sliding Doors" to take to my hairstylist. That photo you like is from this year, when Gwyneth did a public appearance at Sundance. It's under "Public Events" and "2007," I believe. Very recent.

Hope this helps!

Yes, she is in desperate need of a haircut. The long hair she has now just washes her out, The short haircut she had in sliding doors was the best haircut she has ever had. Short hair on Gwyneth really shows her beauty.

I must confess that she is not one of my favorite longhairs. The platinum looks too washed-out with her fair skin. Plus, there has clearly been over-processing over the years. But, I do not understand the adulation that some here have for her short cut. To me, she needs hair length to look feminine.
Were my wife's hair to look like hers, honestly, I'd advise that she keep it trimmed at about waist, and maybe dye it carmel once, so the roots do not make a spectacle of themselves as they grow. No way would I wish to see a major cut to get rid of damage. It's not THAT bad, by any means! (lol) Smile Best, Bob

Of course, what's being discussed here is what merely what us observers like.  Bottom line, ssjockey is correct, although even then it would be what she wants, not what she needs.  I can't really think of many (any?) circomestances in which a person (celebrity, whatever) actually needs a haircut, but I fear I'm veering off-topic now.

[Edited because reply with quote feature is wonky.]

Maybe she will land a job on Law and Order SVU...

I can hope.
