Hi

I hope I can get some help here

I have this whole look planned out for New Years eve which is very retro with only one snag - my hair.

At the moment my hair is busy growing out and is currently in a very layered shaggy style with long top layers. It reaches just below my ears at the sides and just covers my collar with bangs that cover my eyes.

My hair is naturally very thick and wavy so I dont normally have a problem with volume. For New Years I want to wear Big 70`s hair kinda like a BeeGees type look but shorter obviously. I manage to get the sides to feather just right by blowdrying it out but I lose all height at the top and need to know i can tease or blowdry the top hair for height. btw I do not own a diffuser but do have a hairdryer as well as a curling iron.

any help will be appreciated
thanks

WOW! A blast from the past! :) You will need a LOT of hairspray to get the look you want. After you wash your hair, dry it bent over with your head upside down, and spray aerosol hairspray at the roots before coming up. Then tease (backcomb) hair at the roots on top. Spray again! Be sure to lift the sections of hair and tease from underneath. Let the hairspray dry a few seconds before smoothing top sections over the teased sections. To prevent flyaways, spray a little hair spray on your brush and brush hair lightly. Teasing can produce really big hair and is fun for a special occasion but it is not healthy for your hair and shouldn`t be done on a regular basis. Have fun!!
