After extensive testing Andrew and I have found a shoutbox that works pretty well.  We wanted to test it to make sure that it did not slow down the board in any major way.

 

The new shoutbox should be up in the next 24 hours or so.  Initially a shoutbox will ONLY be available here at 360 waves.  We will wait and see how well it goes and may consider other forums as time goes on.

No...it does not increase post count AND unless you do a screen capture you can not keep the shouts.

 

Also...Andrew and Thomas have been looking at the new Shoutbox and don't like how limited it is.  As a result, they are going to write their own from HB.com and I told them to include cool skins and other options this current box limits.

 

One thing...it will require that you log in.  Right now, anyone can shout.  They promised to have the new improved shoutbox up by the end of the week.  We will see how that goes but I promise we will come up with something better.

 

In the meantime if you have suggestions on how to make it better, please post or bmail me.

 

We will keep the current shoutbox up until the new one is ready and it will be a custom design.  So let me know so I can pass it on to Andrew.

 

Sorry about that.  I guess you get what you pay for and when you use someone else's software you have to deal with the limits.  This will be fixed.  I promise.

I don't even read that stuff anymore. Everyday I have about 50 emails of all types of stuff going on, and there are extremely too many topics going on.

 

The "double r" started out as a great idea, but know it's dishelved.  It moves too fast and it's too random.  Maybe, it's useful lifespan is expiring?

Keep in mind that everything in the Shout Box scrolls off.  It is not kept anywhere other than on the HB servers.  So if you want anything to remain around for awhile (photos, good chat stuff, info...etc.,) you need to post it rather than Shout it.

 

Andrew and Thomas have promised to look at the ability to add photos BUT wanted me to remind you guys that if you post them in Shout you should also post them either on one of the 360 threads or in the MyHairboutique.com so that you can make them available long term for folks to see.

 

 

I am going to forward to Paul (our HB graphics guy) and Andrew.  If we can use them we will use your name on the skin...like Wave Connection's Sand Waves...or whatever you want.  Let me know.
