I don't know if it is just me.  Maybe I'm one in a million.  I have hairdream hair extension put in my hair by a professional using the strand by strand method.  This was in March.  Well, during the time,  I had some matting take place.  On the day they were finally removed, I had a lot of matting.  When the extentionist removed the bonds, she kept pulling at my hair with a comb.  When she finished removing the bonds, she put alot of conditioner in my hair and told me to go home and try to get the matting out in the shower.  I got up out of the chair, looked at the floor and saw a pile of hair.  She claimed hasn't my hair- who's hair was it then.  Anyway, I went straight to a hair stylist, they took pictures of the messed up condition my hair was in and they tried putting oil and everything in my hair to save what hair I had left.  Nothing helped, so they had to cut my hair to a very very short hairstyle.  I was very upset and told by my hair stylist that in the future if I want extensions, I should get the sewn in kind.  By the way, naturally my hair is baby fine and very thin.

Wow, so sorry this happened. I have never worn Hairdreams but they look good. Im also just going by random shots I have seen on the internet. I went to their website and I didnt like the look of that weird "comfort bond". It does not look very comfortable to me and somewhat large like it would reak havoc on fine textured hair. I have the exact same type hair you have Im guessing. Also Im a little confused. The extentionist simply left you with horrible matting, slapped some conditioner on your head and told you to go home and figure it out while she cashes your check? This is terrible customer service! What is going on in some of these salons!?

the fact that she handed you some conditioner and sent you home to remove your own matting is crazy!!
i do want to ask though, did you have any maintenance appointments with her during the entire time that you wore these extensions, or did you only see her for install and then for removal? did she go over the care steps to follow to avoid matting, and did you follow them (just asking!)
the reason i ask is that i know from my own extension wearing if i didnt brush properly up at my scalp i had areas that begin to mat (and i only keep in my installs for 4-5weeks)

I did have maintence appts, one a month during the installation period.  She also had given me handouts with instructions.  Nothing I did helped with the matting.
The brush she sold me not only pulled out my natural hair, but the extension hair as well.  I called her 3 weeks prior to the removal day and told her about the matting but she did not advise me on moving up the day of the next appt.  It upsets me more knowing that I had to pay her to remove the bonds after knowing the condition my hair was in.  She literally ripped my hair out.  The ladies that took the photos saw spots on my head where hair was ripped out.
I had been brushing from the roots in the beginning then I started to finger comb the roots because I was loosing too much hair in the brush.  I also started braiding my hair at night.

Its a good thing you have photos and smart of those stylists you went to. Just the fact that they took photos convinces me that they were aware something terribly wrong had happened here.

When I had the Mark Barrington extensions removed, the girl literally pulled my hair out and charged me $100. Having them removed was shear torture. It seemed like the Mark Barrington adhesive was like crazy glue. It took three hours to get the glue out. Total nightmare. I almost swore off extensions after that.

It has only been my personal experience here but it seems glue (of any kind)= hair loss and breakage but they stay in better. Attachment methods not using glue are non damaging yet slip out more. Its a balancing act of sorts and proper care will minimize the problems on both ends.
