*WARNING MAY SOUND STUPID*

Okay, if you have like real silky caucasian-type of hair, and i mean REALLLY SILKY, and your getting tracks sewn on, what if instead of just plain braiding then sewing, you make the part, but make the part, then do little braids, run an iron over them to speed it up, undo them, comb over them to make it "frizzier" and then do the cornrow? It may make the install last longer. The only thing is that it sounds REAL TIME CONSUMING.

That may work, but what many weavologists do with fine, straight silky hair is that they braid some synthetic into the track.   That jumbo braid that you buy at Sally's Beauty supply for a few bucks works nicely to give silky hair some texture and extra holding power.

Having silky hair myself, I don't think it would help much to braid to get frizzy then braid again.  As soon as it gets wet, the hair would get silky again.

My hair will slip out of anything....Cry

i see what you are saying, theoretically it would 'buff up' the hair that's being braided, but i wouldnt think it would be enough to produce any significant increase in staying power...and the time that it would take to braid/undo/rebraid you could have just added in the synthetic hair like metalgirl described

i've never had a sew in, but i really just wanted to say i loved your 'WARNING' !!LOL
