hi, My hair is salon colored and i don't know the color because she won't tell me she says she forgot. It looks like a medium brown with a little red in it. My natural color is black. I would love to highlight my hair but don't know how and am afraid to use the boxed ones because I have heard my hair might turn orange. How do I highlight my hair so that it comes out like a honey blonde or golden yellow?

When your hair is extremely dark or has red tones bleach is SUPPOSED to turn your hair orange. I know that sounds strange- but thats what happens when you strip away colors, the prominent ones will show up most - if your hair is red that means orangey tones.
Go to a beauty supply store- like Sallys - they can look at your hair and help you out more than someone on the net you can't see or touch your hair can. In general, you could still use boxed highlights, but you'd want to add a toner to it to remove the unwanted orange tones, again those can be found at Sallys or another BSS.
