Hi, brand new to the boards. Just read the wonderful article by Victoria Wordinger called Fine Solutions. In it, she described a few different cuts ideal for those with fine hair. I fall into the fine yet abundant category that she described and am interested in either the "chop" or "lightly layered mid-length." Also, because my hair is not thinning, I could get away with wisped ends, according to the article. Is there any place that has pictures of what these cuts look like? I`m a visual person and have a hard time imagining what exactly these cuts are. Are there any celebrities with these cuts? My face is oval to oblong shaped and my hair is a natural light ash blonde. It`s all the same length and falls to my collarbone. I`m 28 and have two toddlers, so my cut has to be pretty easy to take care of. I really don`t like short hair at all and don`t want to go below chin-length. Thanks!

HB.com has a hair style gallery where you can pic styles based on hair type and length. I head there to look for pics before heading to the salon, maybe that would be a good place to start.

ps word of experience....always better to have a picture of the cut you want when you head to the salon....cuts down on misunderstandings and bad haircuts!

Well.....you have a choice. Chop it all off in a butch cut or spend some time on it.
I have three children, and I definitely understand about time. But you have to do what makes you feel most feminine. If your hair is a chore, cut it mostly off. If you `re willing to spend just a bit of time on it, then muster your willpower to grow it to a longer length. It isn`t easy; I know! But if hair isn`t important to you, then forget about it. But if it is, then take the time to style it into a femininine look.

I`m confused - you don`t like short but don`t want longer than chin?? Was this a misprint - I think chin IS short.
Regarding the super short hair I disagree with Jen. a bit in that I think it is possible to go very short but have it very feminine - Halle Berry/Winona Ryder/Sharon Stone - BUT you`d better have the face for it and be sure it is cut verrrry soft...g

I would love a short bed head look. Anyone know if it would work with this type of hair? Heather
