Hello everyone! I'm new to the group and I need some assistance! I'm currently overseas and I went to an Italian beautician to hilight my hair and it was the biggest hair mistake of my life! It was hilighted back in April, and now I'm ready to just color it black. No matter how many weekly hot oil treatments I do, my hair is severely damaged from these hilights. I don't even put heat on my hair! Is it safe to permanently color my hair black? I don't want it to turn green!

Hi divatyte, I do not color my hair so I can't advise you on that, but if the hair is damaged you should probably get the hair healthy again before doing another chemical treatment. You should check to see if any of the stores sell Aphogee for damaged hair which is a heavy duty protein treatment. If you can't find it you should whip up your own protein treatment by adding 1 egg, 1 tsp of molasses, and a few drops of olive oil to your deep conditioner. Follow up with another deep conditioner that has honey and a few drops of olive or castor oil. I would also not use any direct heat (flat irons or blowdryer), either rollerset or air dry the hair. When my hair was heat damaged cowashing/co-rinsing daily raised the moisture level in my hair making it elastic again. HTH
