I'm new to this board and love all the valuable information on this site.
Although I've searched the site before posting this, I couldn't find an answer to this question. Hopefully someone can help me with this one....
I have been wearing Fusion bonds for quite some time now and really love the way it looks, if there was not all this shedding...
My extensions are starting to thin out after a week or two , either they land in my soft brush or the keratin bonds are starting to brittle.
I've used the super glue technique, but it didn't seem to alleviate the thinning.
Is there maybe any type of bond that can strengthen the bonds to avoid all this shedding?
Any advice on this would be really appreciated.
Thanks Smile

Go back to the stylist who installed them and have her replace the ones that are thinning. This should not be happening after only a week. Did you buy pre-tipped hair or did she pre-tip them herself? What type of before and after care instructions did she give you?

I do my own install, with ordered pretipped hair. I use the straight handle wand to melt the pretipped hair onto my own hair.
I wash my hair with sulfate free shampoo and use conditioner only on the ends of the extensions.
Are you saying that making my own pretips perhaps will last longer?

I'm sure there are some great pre-tips out there that last long.
If you do them yourself you can insure that the hair is even at the tips and that all of the hairs are included in the bonds as you glue them. I pull through my bonds to make sure that I remove any that may have slipped, therefore I never have shedding. You can do that with the purchased ones too.
WARNING: Pre-tipping yourself can be a pain in the butt.LOL
I've never tried it but reheating and rolling the pre-tipped bonds you buy before you install them may make them more secure.

besides it's much cheaper to pre-tip yourself. ex. 16"-19" single drawn virgin Indian remy straight hair $53.95 for 4 oz.

Thanks MSHONEY,
I will try your method of pulling through the bonds.

I would love to buy virgin indian remy hair, but I wear #27/30 with highlights of #613, and I don't think that they  carry these color combinations. Unhappy
