Hello I had dyed my hair black red (Loreal), went to salon to get it back to a medium, dark blond, and now it is brownish orangish. Can I buy an ash color maybe to bring it to a natural color?? Thanks for the help! |

This is actually a common problem. One sure solution is to apply a blue hair color - yes, blue. It will counteract the orange and turn your hair brown/black. You can see the color wheel for balancing colors at http://www.salonweb.com/pro/color.htm - http://www.salonweb.com/pro/color.htm Of course, this should only be done by an experienced colorist. I`ve also heard that shampooing several times with Prell shampoo will remove the orange color. I must admit I haven`t done this one myself but have been told several times it works. Might be worth a try. I suggest you not trying to correct the problem yourself. The more chemicals you put on your hair, the more likely you are to damage it and the more expensive it will be for a colorist to return you to your beautiful self. Good luck! :) ------------- |

Unfortunately... I once also had orange hair from a coloring job. I ended up having to go to the salon to get it fixed... BUT here`s the thing. They had to dye my hair THREE TIMES... YES.. 3 WHOLE TIMES and the orange STILL didn`t come out. They even tried that blue stuff and it didn`t come out. They say you CAN`T completely get that orange tint out. Eventually..it might fade a little. I don`t know I just had to wait until it went away. But you might what to try that shampoo that gets it to wash out. Its true about the blue. Years ago when I was in high school L`oreal used to sell these jars of color for your hair (temporary stuff that washed out). I had bleached my bangs blonde (yes, only my bangs, it was the 80`s!) and some of the hair was slightly orange. Well, I used to put that blue stuff in it and it made it really white, it worked great! Trouble is... they stopped selling that stuff like 11 years ago! But, if they have something at the salon, thats the way to go!! ------------- |
