So I tried dying my naturally light/medium brown hair golden blonde. Well... it turned my hair a medium red. I thought I could fix the problem by dying it a lighter blonde, which only resulted in a lighter red. It's hideous! I'm so upset and I don't know what I should do. I just recently moved and don't have a hairstylist here that I trust. I have been dying my hair myself forever and I really don't understand what happened. Please please help me!! Thanks!!

A green based toner will remove any unwanted red tones for your hair. Try Sally's.

yep, she is right....don't freak...hardly anything is unfixable, it is a science...the thing NOT to do and believe me i found out the hard way is  to keep putting color on top of color...you can use this bleach (o'real blanc)by Loreal, sold at sally's....it gives off beautiful blonde colors....looks like that is going to be your way to blonde....i put lots of conditioner in my bleach mixture and it does not feel bad afterwards.....just be careful not to go past the light yellow stage.

Light to medium brown hair will have red undertones.  Before you do anything else to your hair get colorfix and remove all the color you have done in your hair so far.  DO NOT BLEACH first.  After you remove all the color then try to use a green based dye as the other poster said, or just strand test a green based dye color over what you have right now.  Miss Clairol has two that are nice, Moongold, and Moonhaze.  Good luck and I hope this helps.
