I just feel so very depressed right now and was wondering if anyone could relate to something like this.
I recently got my short blonde hair colored to a brownish color with highlights and was kind of iffy on the color but have been wanting to get extensions for a long time.  So I spent more money then coloring my hair back to a strawberry blonde, still not even liking it as much as my original color but thinking extensions would make it look better.
So then I paid nearly 3000 for extensions believing I would have this beautiful dream hair when in fact I just hate it.
It's somewhat okay and I don't think it was my stylist's fault whatsoever, just not nearly as I imagined and hard to disguise.
I lied and told her I loved it anyway but am just so depressed over the fact that I spent all of this money which I had been saving up for a year now just to have hair that I hate more than the short, blonde hair I started out with.
It's just depressing me SO much that I just want to do a britney and shave my head.
Also, sorry this is so long already, but it was great lengths hair and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove them at home after only a week.  I did a search on that but it seemed like it was better to wait longer so the bonds get harder.
Thanks so much to anyone reading this and for ANY suggestions.
~Amy

Amy, cheer up. Send us some pics so we can see if we can help you fix it.
You are not the only woman here who has hated her hair and you won't be the last. I wish you could have talked to us before you spent so much money but I think if we can help you salvage it and blend it ( is that the problem) to what you were originally hoping for you will be pleased and MAY even choose to install them yourself the next time.
There may be a technique which is more suitable to your tastes than the fusion.
Post the pics and let's see what were dealing with.

Amy, MsHoney is right, if you can post pictures we can help you better. I wouldn't take them out yet (since you spent the money on them).

Also, can you call your stylist and ask if she can do something to make it look better? Just tell her you're not sure you like it and can you come in.

i agree with the other ladies, call you stylist back see if she can change them around, make it all more to your liking.  thats a hell of a lot of money to waste.

if you're really going bonkers, i've heard cetyl alcohol removes GL bonds, do a forum search there was a teen girl who recently had a similar experience and mistakenly got everclear (yes as in the kind you drink). I'm sure it'll list what is actually used to remove it.

Yep, your stylist maybe willing to do a different blending with your hair, moving the bonds around but find out if she'll do it for free or charge you.
We need to know what exactly are you displeased with. Is it the color blending, hair quality, or cut and style.
You say that it's hard to disguise? Does it look like a mullet or mushroom? You may need more hair and you may also need to go up further on your crown. Would you be willing to install more hair yourself or get your mom, friend or sis to help. I hate to think of how much more your stylist may charge you to add more hair.
Where do you live? You may be near one of the girls here.

i can relate.....although not with the 3grand part!!Dead

i remember looking in that salon mirror after i'd get a perm or color, when they whipped my chair around and i would lie and say its great, give them a hug and pay them, and go home and cry

please consider going back to this lady and telling her what you told us, ask her for empathy, explain that you were in shock and have now come to your senses and realize you cant live with 3K hair that looks like this

dont do anything to it yourself until you at least give her a chance to help make it right because then she'll likely blame you for messing up her 'perfect' install...good luck!

Be kind Stacey. In some circles $3000 is a bargain, I lie to you not. You live and you learn. If you don't know, then you don't know. She feels bad enough already, belittling her is not going to help the situation one bit.
Honey, were are going to help you get your money's worth out of that $3000 bucks. By the time we finish schooling you on these techniques and how to care for that hair and service you bought, you'll be passing that SAME hair down to your daughter's and grandaughter's YOU WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT THAT DANG ON GOOD!!!!!
Don't fret, we are going to hook you up BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE THEM OUT and you have to remain calm. It's just money Honey and it's just hair. No one has died because of this have they? NO! So send us those pics.

I agree with Tangles.. For 3K you should LOVE your hair.. I would try giving the stylist an opportunity to correct the problem.. But like MsHoney said post some pics so we can see what's going on.. It's gonna be okay girl.. MsHoney is right.. Don't fret and remain calm.. Whatever the problem is it can be fixed..Tongue

Thank you all so much for replying.  It's okay too, I know it was a fortune to spend so I don't mind the negative, it's my own thing.  I think that may be the only part--the money.  It looks "nice" but just not worth all of that. I think I just had higher expectations but I'll just enjoy it and never shell out this much $$ again on myself.
Thanks again for all responses!

$3000 is a little high but not unheard of. GL is also one of the more expensive extensions on the market currently I do believe.

I am so sorry that you are unhappy with it but let me tell you I had kind of the same thing happen but not to this extreme. It was Great Lengths also and the stylist simply did not listen to me even though I showed her many photos of what I wanted. I think I was pushing $2000 when done which is way too much to not be in love with it ya know what I mean?

I’m wondering if texture was a problem for you because GL uses a nice quality Indian hair and it is decent but really does not blend very well with fine caucasian and they claim it will last 3 months. It starts to get ragged after about 2, at least my install did. I was not happy and didn’t continue the method.

That is a lot of money so I would contact your stylist and tell her it’s just not working for you. Most want you to be happy. Don’t worry about anything you said when leaving the salon and she should NOT throw that back in your face because people (women especially) don’t want to hurt people's feeling and will say they like something when they don’t to not ruffle feathers. Also, a lot of time in the salon you are bombarded with a ton of clients and stylists telling you how great it looks and in that environment, a person can feel pressured to agree just to pay up and get out of there. Been there, done that. I would contact her but don’t wait too long.
