I have very thick coarse hair. No matter what gel-putty-pomade-wax I use, they just soak into the hair and don`t hold. All the piecey layers eventually fall into place, my hair looks smooth, and you can`t even see the layers. The salon has tried all the products, and nothing seems to work. Even tried strong hold hair sprays, spritzs, spary gels, and spray wax, doesn`t work. My hair is chin length and layered, and I want something to make it look messy, think Meg Ryan, that has good stay put power.

hi michelle. maybe you could ask your stylist to thinout your hair? it could very well be that your ends are just simply too heavy to be sprayed/gelled/shelacked into place. also, how much do you use? try using a lil bit more then whats normal because coarse hair can be resistant to styling. you are probably rolling your eyes going "duh". lol also, if you would like your hair to be not so coarse, redken makes a lovely shampoo called "all soft" and ive heard great reviews on it. hope this helps
