I am so fuming!

i went to a haridresserstoday that a frined had recomended. i went to get a semi perm colour and a trim. i also asked for the root area on my two blonde streaks done.

when i arrived at the salon i was told that the hairdresser i had booked in with was off so another hairdresser was going to do my colour and another one my cut. i said fair enuff andwe got going.

the girl that did my colour did not have a clue she was only 19 and just trained she kept having to ask her senr. anyway she put the bleach on n it didnt lift enuff so she asked her senr who told her to put higher % on. so she put in on again!! washed it off n toned it. i was sitting there with brown blond roots. confused
i have had my roots done sooo many times it is normally 20 minits with the bleach on and it goes white blonde. as its only like an inch of growth and only 2 streaks.

so i told her this is not light enough. the senr came over and siad she had no time to do my hair so the girl would do it again after i had my hair cut.
so i had my hair cut by the sner and the bleach put on again for the 3rd time!!!!!! it still did not seeem to be taking. the senr said to me that my end are always going to be lighter and i said yes i know tihs but over such a small area this has never been a problem before she then tried to tell me that my hair would get lighter in the sun. when actually i know my hair and i know that it starts off white blonde but the natural colour of my hai comes through and darkens / yellows the blonde with time. it does not lighten thourgh time as she was claiming. i had now been in the salon for 2 and a half housrs and still had the bleach on. the senr also claimed that she couldnt use a higher volume and that it was because my hair was so dark. but how can this suddenly be a problem when i have been bleavching my hair for a year.

so the third lot of bleach was then washed off ..and no toner put on my hair this time. and i have always found a toner brought my hair up a few levels.
so i had my hair dried. and i left the salon. after 3 and a half hours. and 3 lots of bleach!!!!

well now back at home i can see i have orange roots!!!

wtf is going on? how can i have orange roots after all that bleach. is it beacuse she didnt use a toner. what a waste of my time and my hair luks horrible now. with a big orange root area.

i am so upset. the boss of the salon wasnt in today do you think i should ask to speak to her.

yes, you should talk to the owner. If you don't want them to do a corrective service on you get a refund( did you pay them) and go to a colorist. It'll cost about $100 depending on where you live but they'll fix your color and boost your other color as well if you like.

That sucks....
I think you should absolutely call the owner. I'm sure she'll correct it for you.

I would definitely talk to the owner and ask for a refund. Then look for someone to do your hair that specializes in color

If your roots are orange chick they haven't used the correct percentage of peroxide if your roots normally lift easily.  They should have used 9 or 12.  Bleach goes through several levels from dark brown to red then to orange then to yellow then pale yellow then white.  If its orange they haven't left it on for long enough.  I think yours is normally lifted to pale yellow then toned to baby blonde because if it was lifted to white there would be no natural pigment left and your hair would fall off x

I'm not being funny but even the junior should know about the bleach lifting elements if she's at college.  If she's not at least level 2 she's not qualified to be touching your hair without being totally supervised throughout the process not left alone to do it.  So I'd enquire as to her skills as well.  If that were my salon I would be straight in touch with you and thank you for informing me what was happening in my salon when I wasn't there and those staff would be disciplined.  As far as I'm concerned one bad customer and news travels.  I'd do your hair again myself and get it right this time and I'd also give you some free products or offer you your hair done for free next time x

you know i cant even read this whole thing without fuming!!! i et so mad that there are stylist out there that dont care about clients hair and have no business doing hair to begin with. the whole thing was handled poorly and unprofessional. If u paid them, go back and get your money and find another salon regardless. DO NOT let them touch your hair. They do not deserve the privledge to practice on you.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

hey tangles i have just written a 2 page letter fuming at the service. ibasically included everythingthat went wrong and im going to personally hand it in 2morrow morning. see what she has to say. if the manager says she will do my hair i will let her and i will ask for a refund.
the thing is this is a salon with a good reputation. and they are MEANT TO BE colour specialists.
but obvisly wen the manager is away they thout it woud be ok to let a jnr do my hair. yno the young girl that did my hair. she was actually luvly and i dont want to get her in the sh*t. it wasnt her fault. clearly she is out of her depth and shouldnt have bene told to do that. i am most angry at the supposed senor who told her to do my colour, who had no time to correct it,and who had no sympathy for me wen i explained it was still yellow.

hey just to update you all. after shocking customer service i have finally managed to get a refund. they are sendng it to me in the post. i went to a second opionion who told me that they had missed a bit at the temple where they applied the all over colour, there was colour bleyeding from the bleach and my roots were yellow.
still my hair is ruined and im goint to have to pay for a colour correction somwhere else. not to mentonthe damage to my own hair. imthinking of going to trading standards

I'm glad you're getting a refund. What a shame that this happened. I can't imagine you're the first person who experienced this with that salon. Too bad.

What's Trading Standards?
