Hi!  My name is Savannah, i'm 13, and i found this site while googling help for long hair.  I have fine, kind of thin blond hair that is almost to my tailbone.  i'm mostly wondering if i'm doing anything wrong that might damage my hair.  i live in a very humid part of Texas, and i shampoo and condition everyday.  i've been reading some of the posts on here, and i'm kind of wondering what's the big deal with shampoos and stuff, so i'm basically looking for info.  none of my friends have hair this long, and i was wondering if i could get some good advice on how to take care of it, because i really don't want to cut it off, which a lot of my friends recommend, because i've been growing my hair out for as long as i can remember, it's really slow growing, and i'm kind of emotionally attached to it.  so anyway, i just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi, and welcome...although don't have a lot of wisdom for your hair care, I'm sure others will post and help you out.

Just wanted to say hello, kinda new myself here too.  Great site with lots of good information.  Smile

Hi sugaroxxy, welcome!  Shampooing everyday is going to be a little harder on it than not.  Hair is getting the moisture taken out with shampoo, then put back in with conditioner, and having it wet more means its in a delicate state more, where hairs can be damaged more easily.  How often one needs to wash their hair is a personal choice though, and partly depends on how oily your skin is.  If its not very oily, you can probably stretch it to less, it will take a couple of months to adjust though.

As for your friends, they have their own hair they can change and do things with.  You get to decide what you do with your hair. Wink
